SOCIETY AND LEEWARD ISLANDS
Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Maupiti
Tahiti has been synominous with big game fishing the world over since the sports earliest days. However it is only the society group that has claimed famed for the presence of large blue marlin. Some of the biggest Blue marlin caught have been landed either by local hand liners or rod and reel in Tahitian waters. Famous author Zane Grey also visited and wrote about the tropical paradise. In fact, Zane Grey caught the blue marlin world record on 80lb line, fishing out from Tahiti. A fish of 1040lbs.


Other large fish include Tahiti's most famous fish caught in Raiatea. The fish was caught by a local hand liner and weighed in at 1560lbs. There is a photo in the Raiatea market place of this fish being weighed. Other significant catches include blue marlin of 1100lbs and 1307lbs as well as numerous over 1000lbs

International flights to Papeete from LA and Auckland are frequent on Air Tahiti Nui, Air New Zealand and Air France. Domestic flights to all the Society Islands are also available on a daily basis.

Fish or cruise the islands in a 7 day trip, beginning in Papeete and finishing in Borabora.

Tuamotu Atolls
Too many to list - the Tuamotus are made up 76 islands and atolls. The largest are Rangiroa, Makemo and Fakarava.

The remoteness of the Tuamotus indicate frontier fishing, with plenty of reefs and lagoons attracting all the sport fish an angler could want! From Giant Trevally, Bone fish, Dog tooth, Wahoo, Marlin and Tuna. The Tuamotus have yet to be seriously explored. Scientist's have found Blue marlin larvae in the area indicating that the Tuamotus could be a spawning ground for the species.

Flights To Rangiroa, Fakarava and Makemo take a little over an hour and fly between 1 to 3 times a day.

Either embark on the vessel in Papeete or fly up to meet her. Fish and cruise for 7 days and explore between Rangiroa, Fakarava or Makemo, enjoying superb fishing and white sand beach's with all the colours of the lagoons and the abundant marine life within. Book a longer trip and explore some of the remote uninhabited atolls.
